Artist Statement
My art is an intimate dance between the surreal and the raw essence of life, a manifestation of the profound emotions and experiences that have shaped my existence. Born into a world of uncertainty in Venezuela and orphaned at the tender age of two months, I found solace within the sacred walls of a Catholic monastery.
In the silent corridors of the monastery, my artistic inklings were nurtured in secrecy, a whispering promise of creativity waiting to unfurl. It was within those hallowed halls that my imagination began to flourish, longing to break free from the chains of conventionality and explore subjects that existed beyond the norm.
When I emerged into the world at the age of 18, a newfound freedom embraced me, and my creative spirit burst forth like an unstoppable force. Inspired by the surrealism of Salvador Dali and Frida Kahlo, I found a voice in the art that defied ordinary perceptions. Surrealism became my canvas, allowing me to paint the dreams and nightmares that danced within the corridors of my mind.
My art is an embodiment of the past, a reflection of the scars and victories that have marked my journey. I openly discuss the trauma that has woven the tapestry of my life, for it is through acknowledging and embracing these experiences that I am able to breathe life into my creations. Every brushstroke is imbued with my mental state, a raw and unfiltered portrayal of my emotions and memories.
In the eyes of some, I am dubbed the futuristic Dali, a title that humbles me and fuels my desire to constantly push the boundaries of artistic expression. My pieces are a glimpse into a world that exists beyond our time, inviting viewers to question the present and imagine a future where art is a catalyst for profound transformation.
